DANCE ATTIRE
We encourage wearing form fitting clothing that shows both your body and lines. Dancers may take most classes in socks or bare foot as the floors are marley. Ballet should be taken in respectful ballet attire: Leotards and tights. No bras to be worn under Leotards. Students may wear a second skin if necessary. Each student must have ballet shoes. NO Socks or Jazz shoes. Hair must be pulled back and in a bun. If hair is too short please keep cleanly off of face.
FOOD
It is the individual responsibility of each student for his or her own food for the day. We recommend packing food and snacks as lunch is only 45 minutes and it would facilitate keeping dancers together during breaks. If dancers need to venture out in to the city for lunch we recommend that they choose to pick up food from the delis and restaurants surrounding the studio. Please google the around the workshop venue for a list of delis and restaurants.
MId-week Love
Thursday August 3rd all classes end at 5 pm. As days are long, and work is demanding on your body we give you an evening off to recuperate, relax, refresh and have an evening in the city. So please use this time to enjoy the New York Sumer. Go for Dinner!!! Catch a show!!! Walk through Central Park!!! Or just head home, ice the body, and sleep ;-)
Final Day and In-Studio Showcase
Our last day will include both classes and an in-studio showcase of the week's work. Start time 12 pm.
The in-studio showcase will be held at Ballet Hispanico starting at approximately 6:00 pm (exact time to be announced at the intensive), and should end by 8 pm. We encourage all parents, friends, and family to join us.*
*As seating is limited please click the below button to fill out a form letting us know how many of you we can expect at the showing.
Costumes
We ask each student bring several articles of clothing/dance attire that they might be able to use as costumes for each piece. Bring articles of colored clothing as well as several things in black. Examples: Booty shorts, tights, tanks, leotards, dresses, skirts, long sleeved shirts, etc...
