About
The vision of this program is to provide an avenue for dancers to gain awareness of their body and personal potential and through this awareness, unlock that potential in their dancing. We want to offer dancers at various points of their professional career with a focused environment in which they can gain a new way to approach dance.
As an alternative to other pre-professional dance training, :pushing progress is an inclusive program that gives any dancer the opportunity to have a successful career. By making sophisticated information accessible to every student, we hope to provide essential tools for every aspiring professional dancer who has the will to learn and grow. The program focuses on three main components of expanding each dancer’s awareness:
Technique-
◆We believe that technique is a habit formed through concentrated practice and through a constant pursuit to gain awareness. We teach dancers to apply a basic knowledge of anatomy to create a better understanding of technique not as a style of dance but as a foundation from which to grow.
Mindset-
◆We strongly believe that training is a state of mind. Our goal is to help dancers realize their potential and learn how to push themselves toward personal goals while exceeding any previous self inflicted limitations. We hope that every class within the program, whether it is a study of anatomy or an improvisation class, will foster creativity and nurture a professional mindset.
Artistry-
◆We teach students to join the technical aspect of dancing with their individuality to expand their artistry. Throughout the program, students will be encouraged to pursue their personal goals in a professional working environment. Through this process, we hope dancers will develop a distinct voice and a movement quality that makes them a valuable asset in the professional dance world.

If you choose to attend the intensive as your audition, your application and fee must be received and processed by May 1, 2010.
