The Contemporary Training Program
About
The vision of this program is to provide an avenue for dancers to gain awareness of their body and personal potential. We want to provide dancers with a focused environment in which they can gain a new way to approach dance at various points of their professional career. As an alternative to other pre-professional dance training, the Contemporary Training Program is an inclusive program that gives any dancer the opportunity to have a successful career through focusing on the collaboration of technique and education. By providing sophisticated information and making it accessible to every student, we hope to provide essential tools for every aspiring professional dancer. The program focuses on three main components of expanding each dancer’s awareness:
Technique
- We believe that technique is a habit formed through concentrated practice and the constant pursuit to gain awareness. Teaching dancers to apply a basic knowledge of anatomy, the program creates a better understanding of technique, not only as a style of dance but as a foundation from which to grow.
Mindset
- We believe that training is a state of mind. Our goal is to help dancers realize their potential and how to push themselves toward personal goals while exceeding any previous self inflicted limitations. We strive to foster creativity and nurture a professional mindset in every class within the program.
Artistry
- We teach students to expand their artistry by melding the technical aspect of dancing with their individuality. Throughout the program, students will be encouraged to pursue their personal goals in a professional atmosphere. By the close of the process, we hope dancers will have developed a distinct voice and a unique movement quality that makes them a valuable asset in the professional dance world.
